Family Support Services provides early-intervention/prevention,
school-based, family-support programs at two targeted schools located in
79107. Intensive support for youth and their family through F.A.S.T. (Familes
and Schools Together) helps to:
- Enhance family functioning
- Prevent targeted children from experiencing school failure
- Prevent alcohol and other drug abuse by the child and the family
- Reduce family stress due to daily life situations
- Strengthen neighborhood communities
- Build an active school-based peer mentoring youth group
- Increase parental confidence in monitoring their child's behavior
- Increase communication between parents, youth, and school staff
